Czech Food

by Anna from RHS

If you go to a Czech restaurant, you might not recognise some of the dishes. Here are a few of my favourites which you might want to try if you visit Prague.

Svickova - Svickova is a very difficult to make Czech meal which is made out of pork, dumplings and a sauce which is also hard to make and it takes a long time to prepare.

Vepro knedlo zelo - Vepro knedlo zelo is a meal which is divided in to the three groups: pork (pork), dumplings (knedlo), cabbage (zelo).

Lahvove pivo - The Czech Republic is famous for our very delicious tradional beers. We have different brands such as Plzen, Radegast,Bizon, Budejovicky Budvar or Gambrinus.

Plnene ovocne knedliky - This is one of the most famous sweet Czech meals. ovocne knedliky are sweet, white dumplings filled with different kinds of fruit. For example: plums, peach and strawberries.

Bramborova polevka (bramboracka)- Bramboracka is a very delicious soup mixed with vegetables, potatoes and mushrooms. The main ingredient is potatoes (brambory).
